Our story

We started our journey by enabling global mobility roaming services - allowing ridehailing users to access other platforms seamlessly (the same way your smartphone connects to other networks).

Our journey continued by extending this concept to almost any other on-demand service. And making them available to those apps already used by billions of users: superapps.

Whether it is ridehailing or bikesharing, public transport or experiences, we recognise that smartphone users want it on-demand and simple.

This is why Splyt enables the full integration of these services into the superapps, travel platforms and online wallets that billions of people already use.

We didn't start our journey as the world's superapp enabler, but we are now. We have become the world's leading network of on-demand services, available to over two billion users.

Timeline

2015 - 2017

  • MAY 2015: Founding. Splyt was launched in London as a leader in on-demand transportation, with a specific focus on ride-pooling.
  • JANUARY 2017: Switching gears. Following SplytCon Dubai, Splyt switches gears to become the world's leading mobility roaming platform - a unique access point to a global mobility market that connects providers with consumers of on-demand transportation services.
  • OCTOBER 2017: New signings. Splyt signs up a number of leading global transportation providers. The ridehailing inventory available on the marketplace reaches 28 million cars in over 29 countries and across 5 continents.

2020 - 2021

  • JUNE 2020: Investment Series B. Splyt raises its Series B round in anticipation of launching additional services.
  • NOVEMBER 2020: Micromobility. Splyt expands beyond Ridehailing by launching a new Micromobility vertical. Enabling Alipay users in Europe to book Voi scooters through Splyt.
  • NOVEMBER 2021: Public Transport. Splyt launches the Public Transport vertical. Grab users in Malaysia can use the “Intercity” miniapp to buy tickets for domestic bus & ferry journeys.
  • DECEMBER 2021: Airport Transfers. Splyt launches Airport Transfers vertical. Grab users anywhere in the world can prebook airport transfers in advance.

2023

  • JANUARY 2023: New Horizons. Joining Kakao Mobility in 2022 was a transformative milestone for Splyt. With a shared vision and powerful backing, Splyt set out to pursue our most ambitious milestones with a revitalised mindset.
  • OCTOBER 2023: Gaining ground. Following a successful relaunch with a dominant ride hailing supplier in the USA, Splyt’s strong ties with Kakao Mobility unlocked access to the once inaccessible South Korean ride hailing market.

2025

  • JANUARY 2025: A strong start. Splyt brought ride hailing access in Southeast Asia, South Korea and Japan to the users of the WeChat with the launch of our own Mini program on the super app.
  • MAY 2025: Strength to strength. The first half of the year brought a service expansion to the UAE and Canada, a scheduled ride hailing service in South Korea and a very strong demand for ride hailing services from the users of Amap, a dominant force in mapping and navigation services.
